Library of Syiah Kuala University (UNSYIAH) was founded in 1970, when it was still using the Economic faculty building. Libraries existed as the Technical Services Unit (UPT) in 1980. In 1994 the library has its own building which is established side by side with the Central Office Administration (KPA) Unsyiah. Since April 1994, with Rector's Decree No. 060 in 1994, improved utilization Unsyiah Library Unit, by bringing together all the libraries in the environment in a container Unsyiah Library Unit. Since 1970 up to now the library has undergone several changes in leadership.In 44 years has undergone several changes in leadership, among others:1. Prof. Bahren T Sugihen, MBA: Period of 1970 s / d in 19782. Dra. Jang Jahyadi, MA: The period of 1978 s / d in 1989
3. Drs. Wamad Adullah, MA: The period of 1989 s / d in 1992
4. Prof. Drh.Damrin Lubis, M.V.Sc .: Period 1992 s / d in 1997
5.Drs. Sofyan A. Gani, MA: The period of 1997 s / d in 2000
6. SanuVsi Stars, SH, M.L.I.S., LLM. Period 2000 s / d in 2009
7. Dra. Zunaimar: Period 2009 s / d in 2012
8. Dr. Taufiq Abdul Gani M.Eng, Sc .: Period 2012 s / d now
Currently, the library has a collection of as many as 75 114 Unsyiah titles or 136 925 copies. The collection is distributed in many types, including text books, periodicals (journals), a final report, thesis, dissertations, periodicals, reference books, research reports, CD-ROM and documentation. Collections at the library is not just limited to the printed collection, but the library has also subscribed for an e-book and e-journal in several international publishers.thank you for visiting :)
